Sanitaire SC5845B Bagless Commercial Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The hose that you need to release to use the attachments comes out continuously on its own and I have to constantly push it back in place. This is a huge pain when vacuuming large areas (and its a week old) The vacuum does a great job picking everything up. Its a tad heavy for lifting up stairs. The attachment for upholstery is very small it has bristles but its still pretty useless. I would not recommend this for commercial use as it was intended. Keep in mind that we do have a 30 day return / exchange policy which will give you a 10% credit towards a new vacuum. Sounds like you need a heavier duty vacuum. One tip for the hose to stay in is to twist it while placing it back on the machine. It will never come out if you do that.

The wheels wear out often and eventually the axle wears out too. The motor goes forever but Sanitaire should provide a better wheel system. McHardy's Response: Due to the nature of upright vacuums the wheel and axle system are the main contact point with the floor surface and care needs to be taken to help prevent any accidental damage. With this we recommend lifting the vacuum (instead of pushing it) over elevator thresholds and any large gaps. Sanitaire provides a 2 year commercial warranty on the SC5845B Bagless Vacuum which would cover the parts and labour required to repair a manufactures defect in the unit.

This is a great vacuum. We chose this particular model for 2 reasons: It's bagless and it has a 15” wide cleaning path. We have a large church and the wide cleaning path means it takes less time to vacuum. The bagless option is going to save so much money. The vacuum has fantastic suction; one pass over an area and it picked up everything. The attachments are easy to access and the hose is long and stretchy. The 40’ cord length is great because we don’t need to use an extension cord. The dirt cup is easy to empty and the vacuum is not noisy or heavy. It required minimal assembly out of the box, and what was required was easy and straightforward. The bonus feature is that you don't have to push the vacuum--it has built in forward momentum. McHardy had the best price on this vacuum and their shipping was extremely fast. We are very pleased with this vacuum AND with McHardy.
