Numatic PPR380 Commercial Dry Vacuum

I have about 20 of these vacuums (the PPR380 specifically) at a site that I am a cleaning supervisor at. My staff is notorious for destroying just about anything they get their hands on pretty quickly but they have yet to do any real damage to one of these little guys. I replace the odd plug end and have to unjam the cord from getting stuck inside occasionally (both caused by user error). Some of them have been in service for at least 2 years, others far, far longer than that. They see a few hours of use daily in heavily trafficked environments. These things are virtually indestructible IMO. I do not like the plastic wheels on the other models, definitely go for the PPR380. They also sell an air powered beater bar attachment that works much better than the powered beater bars on our stand up vacs. The beater bar for the Henry actually works a little too effectively, we have to cut the hair out of them every 2-3 days. This is a vacuum I would not hesitate to purchase for myself and I think it beats out a lot of the competition at this price point. Keep in mind, it is not a wet vac nor is it advertised as one!

This item is good for light duty daily cleaning on the vacuum in our office, but for large spills or heavier duty cleaning such as with all the ice now coming into the office, this machine is lacking. The primary attachment for surface cleaning does not allow the user to vacuum in both a forward and backward motion. When the user pulls back on the hose with the attachment on the carpet, the debris is not picked up and it flies out. This is not an issue with upright or belt driven vacuums. The high power setting does provide good suction but the attachment is not a good device for carpet cleaning. It is a light weight vacuum and easy to move around. McHardy Response: Thanks for posting your review! We'd just like to clarify that this model does not offer wet/dry filtration and is not recommended for picking up any type of liquid, snow or ice. The tool included is designed strictly for low pile carpeting. The lack of an agitating brush means it won't be able to pick up well on medium to high pile carpet. Numatic offers the "Easy Ride Airo Brush" which picks up much better on pile carpets. Thanks again for shopping with us!

I had 2 Henry's back in the UK and have been looking for one since we arrived in Canada 15 months ago. Why? Coz he may be basic but he lasts forever (unlike the Dirt Devil I bought here in desperation and which broke as soon as the warranty expired!) and he does the job. He may not come with fancy balls and tools but with the optional Carpet attachment he gets rid of the dog and cat hair fine and is easy to manouvere and carry. I love my Henry -- thank you for being a Canadian supplier!
