Miele Compact C2 TotalCare Canister Vacuum Cleaner

I was quite confident that I had selected the right vacuum based on the online reviews I had read and I wasn't disappointed. The vacuum is quiet but powerful and easily deals with all the cat hair that gets everywhere. The tool clip on the handle is great - it keeps everything in one place. Very robust, well-built and performs fabulously. easy to get under beds, tables chairs and manoevure around furniture. Light and easy portable up and down stairs which it does a superb job of cleaning. Well worth the price. I too had a cheap and not very effective vacuum before and wondered why I put up with it for so long. I am not a clean freak by any stretch of the imagination but I was excited the first time I vacuumed my house with this vacuum! It sucked up all the dust bunnies, grit and general debris from floors, corners, carpets and edges with ease.

This little darling is powerful, nimble and quiet. I had a wimpy Hoover stick vac before, and had no idea how bad it was until I cleaned my carpets with my new Miele. Wow! They all look new now, and the parquet floor brush has pretty much retired the regular broom, too. This machine is so easy to use and is easy to get under and around furniture with. The attachments make it super easy to get dust from all the nooks and crannies that I had previously neglected. Tops of windows, Venetian blinds, lampshades and baseboards now look good. I even do the houseplants (on the low setting). Dust bunnies and spiders fear me. I like the parking feature for the hose and head, particularly when the machine is set on its end. I was concerned that the vacuum might be hard to find a place for in my small closet, but it takes up very little space, about the same as my mop and bucket. Another feature is am very happy with is the filtration. The air that comes from the exhaust is fresh and clean. I don't get that hot, dusty smell that I used to associate with vacuuming. Very nice to know that the dirt is really being removed from the house. All in all, I am very happy with this vacuum cleaner. I actually enjoy using it and have recommended it to friends who are unhappy with their Dysons.

Well I thought this was quite an adult purchase for man in his 20s. I've always had Shark vacuums from Canadian Tire that overheated after 5 minutes, and were so frustrating to use they ended up in the dump after a month. I've only had this vacuum for a few weeks, but it's lightyears ahead of those. I have a pug cross with so much hair I thought it was hopeless to even get the couch clean. With the help of the bonus turbo brush attachment, it actually got most of the hair off - even the stuff woven into the fabric. I'm really surprised how well it actually worked because I've found with other vacuums the brush causes a ton of static and you can never get the hair off. I have all flat laminate flooring otherwise, and it works great on that. The few things I don't really like aren't deal breakers, but more nuisances. The hose is pretty short, and I have a few ceiling vents that are fairly high so I have to actually lift the unit with me to reach high places. Not fun on a ladder. The other thing I noticed when using some of the small attachments the "bag full" indicator ramps up and shows empty bags as almost full. I'm hoping this doesnt affect the longevity of the motor, that would be my only concern there. Otherwise, I'm planning to keep this thing for years!

Really enjoy the Meile S6 Dimension. I like the smaller size, lighter weight (compared to my previous Miele), longer cord length and love the Parquet Twister floor brush! Shipping department had my parcel here in a few days. Great company to buy from, where else do you get hand written thank you notes!

Apologies for the late review... I did my research and decided on Miele S6. Great choice, my family and I are delighted - works well on our hardwood/tiles/carpet. Suction is powerful and vacuum cleans well and is quite easy to move around. McHardy's customer service was very helpful & delivery expeditious. Thank You.

Let me begin by saying that I really wanted to like this vacuum cleaner. I really really did. I bought this as a gift for my parents. They are nearing their 60's and I did not want them to have to carry their heavy Kenmore vacuum cleaner. That thing is really heavy, bulky and not really convenient to use. At first, I wanted to buy them a Dyson, but the Dyson's reviews were not very good on carpet flooring. I decided to get a Miele, as the overall reviews on this vacuum were beautiful. I have never been more excited to actually receive a home appliance before. When it came, (very quickly I may add) I was delighted. The product was sleek and looked promising. However, it quickly dawned on me that it was missing several KEY features that my old vacuum had: 1) The accessories of this vacuum can not be held in the actual canister. Its separate. This is HIGHLY inconvenient. What if I'm upstairs but the accessory I need is downstairs in the basement? It's just so bizarre to me that I automatically assumed the accessories would be able to be inside the actual canister's body. I understand the product design needs to be small, but this is just a key feature that I really miss that I had on my old vacuum. 2) The power switch of the vacuum isnt on the handle. Its on the BASE of the vacuum. This doesnt *sound* like a big deal at first, but it is. My old vacuum had it. The fact that I have to go back to the cannister to turn it off, (or on) is just highly disappointing. I dont know why it can't be on the actual vacuum like my old vacuum... 3) The electric carpet tool isn't very powerful. It doesn't actually add much suction, and it doesn't include a light. A light is very useful when going underneath beds and sofas. The good things is that yes, it is very quiet and powerful at the same time. And yes, the cannister body of the vacuum is light but the metal pole is actually quite bulky and heavy. However, basic convenient designs were left out and I was surprised that such a well regarded brand could be missing such basic design features that cheaper brands offer. You are correct that the three small attachments (dusting brush, crevice tool, and upholstery tool) don't store inside of the machine. However, there should have been a tool caddy that allows these tools to clip to the hose (where it connects into the main canister) so they are attached to the unit while you are cleaning. The features you mentioned (on/off switch on the hose handle, and a light on the carpet head) are available on different Miele packages, however as you pointed out they are not included with the Miele S6 Dimension. The STB205 turbo head is ideal for low/flat pile carpeting/area rugs and would not perform effectively on thicker pile carpeting. Since there is no electricity in the actual cleaner head there is no possibility of having a light, which we agree is quite handy when cleaning under furniture

I did a lot of research before making my purchase and MCHardy had the best price and the best selection for the quality of vacuum I was looking for. They were wonderful to talk too and the online order was quick and easy. The vacuum arrived in record time, which is all the more amazing when you know that I live in a small rural village on Vancouver Island, BC. Then the best part happened, I got to use my new Miele vacuum. the first thing you notice is how quiet the operation is. My husband and I could actually talk without strain, while the vacuum was on. He was so impressed he actually vacuumed!!! It is lightweight and the casters are so smooth you hardly know it is following you around. The suction is great, we have no carpets, but two dogs that track in sand and dirt. The Miele picked all the dust and debris up so effortlessly that we didn't have to go over and over an area. That cut down on the total time the job took to do the entire house. The air from the vacuum smells fresh and clean with no dusty or 'doggy' stale air smell so we know the filter system is working as advertised. This is the best vacuum we have ever had and we have owned other advertised quality vacuums over the last 50 years, Kirby, Electrolux, Kenmore, Central Vac systems and so on. We know the other good things about Miele are important too, the quality, the warranty and so on, but when it comes down to it, the chore of vacuuming is down pretty far on the list of things we want to do, so most important to us is that we have a tool to do the job quickly and efficiently and comfortably, and we now have that with our Miele S6.

After a recommendation from our son and his wife I purchased this product. My vacuuming / dusting now takes less time and the results are better. I can vacuum flooring, baseboards and vents all with one brush attachment. The unit is lightweight and moves easily with me. Another feature I like is the retractable cord. I'm very pleased with this vacuum.

I am very happy with this vacuum cleaner. Lightweight, strong suction and very quiet. The only thing that would have been nice is for it to have a parking clip on the side so that I can position the vacuum upright with the hose on the side. Otherwise, this is a wonderful vacuum. McHardy's also did a good job shipping it, no hassles and it arrived fast. It was easy to track it down quickly because they send you the tracking number link that you just click. I had a bad experience with other online merchandise companies that lose my item or deliver it 2 months later. I will endorse McHardy's to my friends who wish to order vacuums or other products they have online.
