Miele Compact C2 Cat and Dog Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Excellent machine

Its been about a month since we bought the C2 Cat and dog vacuum and it has been a great change. Suction is strong. The machine is easy to carry around. Really loving the change. The bonus was buying it from McHardy. Great customer service. Answered all my questions without any pressure to buy. Even got a thank you card with my purchase.

I have owned and used this for a month - we have an 1900 square foot home with small rooms - this vacuum is okay. Not as incredible as I was expecting considering the reviews. Pros: Stores easily due to smaller size. Parquet brush is great - nice and wide and soft touch on the hardwoods No plastic or chemical smell emitted - I had to return my Kenmore because the smell it emitted after vacuuming made both myself and my 10 year old feel sick. I like optional HEPA filter Shipping and customer service from McHardy's is excellent- SO fast. Cons: Power brush definitely takes some work moving back and forth. Would not recommend this for elderly or anyone who has back or weakness issues. Neither power brush nor parquet brush are great at picking dirt/dust up along the side of the brush as you vacuum alongside a wall, etc. Kenmore was superior at this. I don't like how additional tools aren't stored inside - thought this would be okay but it's somewhat annoying - Power head cord is somewhat awkward to plug in and out of vacuum due to it's location. Power on and off button is on vacuum itself - I prefer it to be on handle, like the Kenmore. I would never have thought of this when purchasing. If I am vacuuming stairs and run out of hose, I can't just turn it off - I have to walk back up or down to where my vacuum is. Or if something gets sucked up or caught, you can't turn it off immediately. Or if you want to just quickly turn it off to move something then you have to walk back to your vacuum to turn it off. Would definitely recommend changing this feature. My daughter has longer hair and every time I vacuum I have to cut these and pull them off of the power head as they are wrapped around and around and start to build up. I rarely had to do this with my previous Kenmore. Overall I would consider this vacuum again due to small size, lack of smell and suction power - but it's not the wonder vacuum I thought it might be. The points you have made about this machine are valid. We just wanted to mention that most of them could be overcome with the Complete C3 Line, especially the C3 PowerPlus (i.e. having on/off controls on the hose handle, internal storage of the tools, no cord to plug in, etc.). The C2 line is deigned to be compact / light weight so some of these features are omitted to reduce the overall weight and size. As well, the powerhead can be hard to push if the suction on the machine is too high. The Miele vacuums are very powerful and can actually lift the carpet / rug off of the floor causing a suction cup effect. Using the 4th highest suction setting (the ear picture) when cleaning carpeting should reduce the resistance and actually clean better.

I just wanted to let you know I am very pleased with my Miele vacuum and the attachments. McHardy's was so easy to deal with and my vacuum arrived in record time. I was so happy with my purchase that my sister ordered a vacuum a few days later.

Amazing power in a tiny, very compact machine. I had a Kenmore vacuum with a beater bar for over 35 years and loved it. This machine is even more incredible. The Miele's beater bar is the best I've ever owned. If I had to do it over again, I would probably have spent the extra money to get the larger model with the 4.5 litre bag and inside storage for the accessories. That's what my old vacuum had. Go to a retail store to see the various models, then buy it here. McHardy's staff is very knowledgeable and if you're from out of province, you can save the Provincial sales tax.

purchased this vacuum one month ago, it works great. Love the electric power nozzle for carpets. Lots of options to customize the suction. Quick delivery and great information on the McHardy website made this purchase easy.

Great price, quick delivery. Everything as we hoped!

The canister itself isn't heavy; but when you attach the hose and metal tube, it's not light anymore. Hooking the plug of the electrified hose is clunky, unsightly and interferes with opening the canister to change bags and filters. The machine moves freely, has excellent (customizable) suction and exits hot air upwards where you're standing close to the machine.

This vacuum came quickly, set up quickly and runs so quietly. It has lots of power and well worth the money.
