Miele Blizzard CX1 Total Care Bagless Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Wow! What a relief to come back to Miele! We had had a Miele canister vacuum for years but having to drive to specialty stores to buy replacement bags and filters was getting to be a pain. We bought into the hype and bought a Dyson Big Animal Canister vac, loving that it was bagless. The machine was terrible compared to our old Miele! We tried to overlook all of its flaws, but finally had enough and, on a whim, bought this vacuum online. Incredibly impressed with the speed of delivery (two days earlier than promised) and the ease of purchase. When it arrived we set it up immediately and took turns. The whole family was so impressed. This machine is so lovely and quiet, light to move around behind you, great suction, finally my edges are clean again (the Dyson was terrible at that), my carpets are clean again and, instead of being a chore like it has been for the last couple of years, it is actually fun to vacuum again. Two thumbs way way up. Thank goodness they went bagless or I'd still be fighting my Dyson!

I have had this vacuum several weeks and overall have found it excellent. It is relatively quiet, but has excellent suction. The carpet attachment, which operates by airflow rather than a separate motor, does a great job on the limited number of low pile rugs I have. The floor attachment does an excellent job of picking up dust from my hardwood and ceramic, even quite close to baseboard and furniture. The only reason I have given 4 stars is that the dusting brush that comes with the matchine is close to useless. It is poorly located on the short hose near the handle, and has an awkward release button. You are then left being able to only dust easily those things that are within arm’s reach, and need to kneel down to dust along baseboards, for example. Forget dusting the top of a cupboard unless you lift the vacuum. There is a better dusting brush available as an accessory at additional cost. For the cost of this vacuum, it should be included as standard, even if the price has to be a few dollars higher. With that caveat, I highly recommend this vacuum.

On a whim I purchased this to replace my 30+ year old noisy vacuum which still works but which husband hates. Decided on a bagless model - less waste and the savings on bags would pay for the price difference in less than five years. Quiet, great suction, moves easily. The latch for the integrated dust brush is very stiff, but will presumably loosen up with a bit of use. The onboard upholstery tool removed cat hair easily. We were disappointed by the Turbo head until we reduced the suction - then it worked beautifully. The sturdy telescoping wand is long enough for both myself and my 6'3" husband to use comfortably. When sitting in its upright position I can use it to vacuum the wall/ceiling junction of my 10 foot ceilings. Love this machine - almost enough to make me actually like vacuuming.

We recently had renovations done to our basement and have been using this new vacuum to clean up the drywall and concrete dust & general dirt left behind. It is by far the best vacuum cleaner I have had or used. Love it so far! McHardy's Response: We're very glad to hear you are enjoying your new Miele CX1 Bagless vacuum! However, we do not recommend using the Miele (or any other residential vacuum) to pick up drywall dust or concrete dust. These particles are very fine and can sometimes pass through the filters and damage the motor. Only specific vacuums equipped with a certain type of filter can safely remove this type of debris.
