Dyson 360 Heurist Robot Vacuum Cleaner
What makes the Dyson 360 Heurist different from other robot vacuums? Well, it's all in the name. Dyson engineers developed the 360 Heurist with heuristic - or learning - abilities. This means based upon previous cleaning sessions the vacuum will continue to better understand the layout of the room and map obstacles in the home allowing for more intelligent and efficient cleans in the future. While the vacuum is running it uses a top-mounted fish eye camera lens to create a 360˚ panoramic view and incorporates SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) technology to have a continuous view of where it's been and where it still needs to clean. When encountering dark or dimly lit areas during evenings, night time, or under furniture, a LED light illuminates the camera to ensure proper mapping and cleaning is still achieved. Not to mention that the Dyson 360 Heurist has 20% more suction than previous Dyson robot vacuums.
By using tank tracks instead of standard wheels the Dyson 360 Heurist can easily climb over thresholds and transition between floor types or onto area rugs. Eight navigational sensors allows the Dyson 360 Heurist to see a four-metre diameter around it at all time. This includes drop sensors which prevent the robot from falling down stairs and sensors which prevents it from bumping into walls or furniture. A brush bar that is the entire width of vacuum provides edge to edge cleaning and prevents the 360 Heurist from having to make large overlapping passes.
Connected technology and and customized cleaning comes to life with the Dyson Link app, available for both iOS and Android devices. From across the room, or across the world, the Link app allows the cleaning times to be scheduled and adjusted whenever connected to wifi. Switch between the three cleaning levels (quiet, high, and max) and create zones throughout the house which allows custom behaviours in each area. Afterwards the Dyson Link app shows cleaning reports and maps of the areas the 360 Heurist has cleaned.

Great Vacuum, software is lacking
We're very happy with the little vacuum, but the software is lacking. When mapping our home, about 1/2 of the bedroom floor was missed. I can't find any way of re-mapping just that one piece of the puzzle, and so the vacuum is missing that part. I thought the mapping would be updated as more areas were found - but that doesn't seem to be happening. Our home is 1800 sq feet and I'm not willing to remap the whole works for one missing piece. A lot of homes are open concept in Canada, and the zoning feature doesn't work well when there are no walls. This unit may be going back.

Good Vacuum, Bad Support
I am returning because I am not happy with the service I received from Dyson. The vacuum works great, when it works. Our floors are clean with little effort. The issue I had was that the app doesn't allow you to schedule more than 1 event a day. I wanted to vacuum the living room when we aren't using it during the day and vacuum the office when we weren't using it during the evening. The only way to vacuum both those spaces in the same day is to make it all 1 event, which means there is the nuisance of this vacuum hovering around the space you are trying to use. I called Dyson to see if they had a solution and maybe I was wrong, and they weren't able to get me an answer, offered to call back, and never followed through. This leads me to believe they aren't concerned with improving the app which means I will never get to use the vacuum in the way that works for me. The other function I was hoping for was connecting the vacuum to my google home. I was able to do so successfully, but the voice commands are not robust enough. You can only turn the vacuum on or off, not command it to vacuum a specific section of the house. I was hoping I could tell it to vacuum a room I wasn't planning on using at the time as a work around for the app not having that functionality, but this is also not possible. Again, Dyson was not able to answer this and never called back. I guess the real issue is that for my house, the vacuum needs to go back to the dock to recharge before finishing. This creates a 45 minute vacuum cycle, 2 hour recharge, and 45 minute vacuum cycle for a total of almost 4 hours. It is hard to avoid the vacuum for that long on a consistent schedule. I thought I could break up zones so it avoids me but this is not possible. Overall, great vacuum in terms of performance, bad vacuum in terms of ease of use.

I love this machine it’s wonderful, you wouldn’t believe the places this can get into, every lil corner and sucks great, I have a very long haired dog, wonderful for this. 5 stars Only one complaint even on quiet it’s loud, if you want quiet don’t buy it. 3 stars
