Numatic Hetty HET200A Canister Vacuum Cleaner

2 yrs ago I had one of the worst years of my life. My house burnt down as a result of arson & I had just purchased The Hetty vacuum this adorable looking vacuum is so powerful & so easy to use. After the fire I was so sad that all the money I saved for this vacumm went up in smoke. I actually wrote a review /letter to the company that makes them & I honestly didn't expect to hear back but they had a rep call me & she told me that the head office in the UK was so sad to hear of the fire & that they would like to send me another vacumm free of charge. They sent me the breast cancer version. This vacumm is so great if you have pets or kids that like do leave messes. It's so quiet & so powerful you won't be disappointed. I was never a fan of using the vacumm till I got this one & now let's just say I don't mind doing it now. Thanks so much!!!! Mchardy mailed me my vacumm courtesy of the company.

I am sorry that I have to return this product. I bought it for my wife who works for a cleaning company. She tried a bit at our home and immediately rejected it. Her reasons were, 1- Awkward grip makes it hard to hold and maneuver 2- The standard head is no good. it sticks to the carpet and too big and heavy for hard floor. Some of the large homes that she services have carpet all over and she said she would be completely exhausted using this head. Also, a separate lighter brush for hardfloors would have been great intead of a heavy cumbersome combination head 3- No rotating brush for carpets 4- The unit is heavy. Vacuuming stairs, especially carpeted ones will be difficult. McHardy's Response: Thank you for your feedback! There is no need to apologize about having to return the unit within 30 days - our goal is to ensure each client has the best vacuum to meet their needs. While Hetty is an amazing vacuum there are some drawbacks as you and your wife encountered. As a package it does come with the standard combination tool, but you can add a regular bare floor brush (for hard floor cleaning) and an air driven turbo head with rotating brush (for carpet cleaning). This unit is designed to be pulled behind you on the floors, and due to the large (yet sturdy) base it can be a bit difficult to clean carpeted stairs as you would have to hold the unit while cleaning. However, the carrying handle does make it easier to carry up and down stairs in comparison to an upright style.

The Pros: Hetty is a very quiet vacuum, is nice and light for carrying and has plenty of suction. The Cons: Winding in the cord is a real issue.The cord is quite stiff and does not want to reel in smoothly and tends to tip the vacuum around while doing this operation. For this reason we would not be tempted to buy another Hetty in the future. Rebecca at McHardy Vacuums was very helpful and great to deal with.

I have had the pleasure to use a Henry vacuum cleaner and it is very light and easy to handle , one thing that's very important to me is that its very easy to fix if there is a break down.I would definitely recommend this type to everyone, I recently bought a Hetty and its awesome so far.. I work with a Henry so when it came time to get a new Vacuum for home, Hetty was the perfect choice. I cannot say enough good things about it. With her smiling face, quiet two speed motor and easy wind cord Hetty works hard and does the job quite well. Quiet enough that the cats and dogs do not run from her when I turn her on, she picks up their fur and stray litter with ease. I can switch to the tools with a simple motion without having to stop for more then a moment, allowing me to continue on cleaning. This is a vacuum I have strongly recommended to my friends and family. McHardy was a great place to order from. The price was good and shipping was not only free but fast. We placed our order on Thursday afternoon. She was at our door on Monday.

We recently moved to live in Canada and bought the noisiest vacuum cleaner ever! Imagine our delight at finding Hetty, the slightly smaller but oh so beautiful sister of Henry. We were familiar with Henry having used him to clean our church in the UK. But Hetty, wow, she is so quiet, we only ever have her on half power, the lead provided is long enough that Hetty gets all round our 1000 square foot apartment without having to plug her in more than once and she looks so cute. Thanks also to McHardy for brilliant customer service and providing a great product at a sensible price. You will definitely find cheaper vacuum cleaners, but you definitely won't find better for the price.

You could take every Vacuum I have had over a period of 50 years and put them all together and they could never compare to my Hetty !!! I have never had a such an awesome Vacuum ... And besides she is so cute !! I am sold ...I now have the power !!!! <3 I love my hetty <3

Having had a different brand of vacuum that was terrible and wouldnt pick up a thing,we were so happy to receive our Hetty!! She works incredibly well. We have many different types of carpets and flooring and Hetty works well on all of them. We also loved the personalized thank you card that we received in the mail. I highly reccomend this vacuum, as well as McHardy Vacuum.
